The Nukes Only News Report: Issue #1

November 19, 2024

Hello and welcome (back) to the newly revamped Nukes Only News Report!

Each week, we’ll bring you the top stories, standout players, and everything you need to know about the next generation of golf. We're pumped to have you along for the ride.

Let’s dive right in:

The Rundown

Luke Clanton is making another pro start this week at the RSM Classic

(via NBC Sports)

After a red-hot stretch on Tour over the summer, Luke Clanton will tee it up at the RSM Classic in Sea Island, GA, this week to close out the PGA Fall Swing.

With three top-10 finishes under his belt before even starting his senior year at Florida State, Luke’s on track for a huge spring season. Looks he'll have FSU Sam Kodak on the bag again as well—not a bad way to spend time with your boy.

Joining Clanton in the field are former Georgia Tech standout Christo Lamprecht and current Notre Dame stud Jacob Modleski, who earned his spot through a clutch Jones Cup win earlier this year.

Rasmus Hojgaard could be joining his brother Nicolai on Tour next year

Rory McIlroy may have stolen the headlines with his dramatic Race to Dubai victory, but let’s not overlook the 10 DP World Tour players who earned dual PGA Tour membership for 2024.

Among them is Rasmus Hojgaard, who’s eyeing a spot alongside his brother Nicolai on Tour. South African standout Thriston Lawrence is another name to watch after his deep run at this year’s Open Championship.

The wildcard? Tom McKibbin, the final player to earn status. Hailing from the same hometown and club as Rory, McKibbin even got a shoutout from McIlroy himself after Sunday’s victory. Big shoes to fill—but the 21-year-old might just have what it takes.

Michael Riebe will headline an absolutely reloaded recruiting class for Vandy this year

(via Golfweek)

The early signing period for the HS Class of 2025 kicked off last Wednesday, and despite the looming shakeup in college roster sizes, there were some major recruiting wins:

  • Vanderbilt landed the top-ranked player in the country, headlining what might be the best recruiting class this year with Will Hartman.

  • Auburn signed Logan Reilly, a rising star who bolsters an already stacked returning roster for next year.

  • Florida wasn’t playing around either, adding defending U.S. Junior Amateur champion Trevor Gutschewski and international phenom Joshua Bai.

  • Meanwhile, Tennessee nabbed Chase Kyes and has an absolutely loaded pipeline for 2026. 👀

Player Spotlight

Christo Lamprecht showed out big time at the Butterfield Bermuda this week

Christo Lamprecht turns heads at the Butterfield Bermuda

After a slow start to his professional career on the Korn Ferry Tour, former Georgia Tech standout Christo Lamprecht made a statement with a top-25 finish at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

With ridiculous speed, power, and some Major Championship experience already under his belt, Christo’s Tour breakthrough feels inevitable.

Don’t blink—he’s just getting started.

Follower Swing of the Week

Big shoutout to Jaxson Henegar for winning our first-ever brother-vs-brother follower swing challenge on IG over his big bro, Grayson.

Jaxson is a 2026 rising star from Dallas, TX, with a silky swing and serious potential. Keep an eye on him and go show him some love!

That’s it for this week!

We’d love to hear what you think of the new format. Got a story tip, a player we should profile, or feedback? Drop us a line anytime.
