The Nukes Only News Report: Issue #2
November 26, 2024
Hello and welcome back to the revamped Nukes Only News Report!
Each week, we bring you the top stories, standout players, and everything you need to know about the next generation of golf. This time, we’re highlighting four young stars making major waves before their 25th birthdays.
Let’s dive in:
The Rundown

Blades Brown is your AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year
(via AmateurGolf.com)
Blades Brown wrapped up a phenomenal season by earning the prestigious AJGA Rolex Junior Player of the Year award, joining a list of past winners that includes Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Scottie Scheffler.
In 2024, Brown solidified his spot as one of junior golf’s brightest stars, placing in the top five at four out of five national junior events and even making the cut in his PGA TOUR debut at the Myrtle Beach Classic.
Other standout First Team All-American selections include Pennson Badgett, Ronin Banerjee, Jackson Byrd, Luke Colton, and Tyler Watts.

Aldrich Potgieter turned heads with his showing in Brisbane this weekend

Aldrich Potgieter, who locked up his PGA Tour card for 2025 before turning 21, delivered a T8 finish at the Australian PGA Championship that left both fans and playing partners buzzing.
Paired against heavyweights like Cam Smith and Min Woo Lee, Potgieter lit up the leaderboard with six birdies on his front nine Saturday. Though he fell just short, the South African’s full Tour status for next year makes him a name to watch as he begins competing stateside in 2025.

Luke Clanton took another step towards a PGA Tour card with his T2 finish this weekend
(via NBC Sports)
Luke Clanton continued his remarkable ascent this week with a T2 finish at the RSM Classic, proving once again that he’s more than ready to compete at the highest level.
Clanton found himself in contention as early as Friday afternoon, and if just a few more putts had fallen, we might’ve witnessed the second amateur win on Tour this year (shoutout to Nick Dunlap).
What’s next? A big spring season at Florida State and some tough decisions ahead. But for now, just enjoy the show—Clanton’s rise is must-see golf.
Player Spotlight

Joe Highsmith dug deep this fall to lock up his PGA Tour card for 2025
Joe Highsmith caps off torrid Fall Swing
After a rocky start to his PGA career, Joe Highsmith faced the very real prospect of losing his status for the 2025 season.
But a well-timed call to his college coach sparked an incredible turnaround. The Pepperdine alum finished the Fall Swing on a tear, capped off by a clutch top 10 at the RSM Classic.
With his card now secure, Highsmith is gearing up for what could be a massive breakout season in 2025. Keep an eye on him.
