The PGA Has a GLARING Problem...

(And it has nothing to do with next year’s tour cards)

Lately, there’s been a lot of buzz about the structural changes coming to the PGA Tour — field sizes, the number of carded players, and more…

But here’s the reality: none of it really matters.

For the last few years, the PGA has been struggling with a massive, Tiger-sized hole, and they still haven’t figured out how to fill it. Let’s dig in.

Take this year’s Presidents Cup, for example. Spieth and JT were left off the U.S. squad (and for good reason) — they simply haven’t been performing.

But what we were left with was the same issue the tour faces week in, week out: a lack of players with real charisma and emotional pull. There’s currently no one on the PGA who’s a captivating enough character to make casual fans feel genuinely connected to the action on a regular basis.

Remember Scottie’s brief display of emotion? Of course you do, it was amazing and people lost their minds — but it lasted all of two seconds before he went back to business as usual. And hey, that’s just Scottie being Scottie. It’s who he is, and he doesn’t need to change. But it doesn’t exactly make for high drama or intrigue.

Honestly, the most electric moment was Si Woo’s “night night” celebration… only for him to lose a few holes later. Classic.

Ya just gotta love the confidence…

Back when Tiger was dominating, it wasn’t just about his wins. It was his energy and attitude that kept people hanging on his every move. And at the same time, you had young guys like Rickie, Spieth, and JT bringing some real fun and fire to the game.

That’s whatreally grows the sport — and in our opinion it’s something the PGA desperately needs right now. Someone like Min Woo definitely has the potential, but he needs the results to match.

So… who’s going to step up? We’re ready to see it.

Player Spotlight

Michael La Sasso
Ole Miss Junior Michael La Sasso is on fire.

Named SEC Golfer of the Week after taking the Hamptons Intercollegiate by 11 shots at 15 under — not too shabby. Oh, and did we mention the Rebels also snagged their first-ever No. 1 national ranking? With a stacked squad, keep an eye on Michael and Ole Miss to make some serious noise this spring.

Matt McCarty
Who’s got it better right now than Matt McCarty?

Three wins on the Korn Ferry Tour this year secured his PGA Tour promotion, and he made an immediate impact, winning the Black Desert Championship in just his third start. Rumor has it he took the crew to Vegas afterward. Real one.

Our bet? Matt’s just getting started. Look out for him in the new year. 👀
