Welcome Aboard
Welcome to the very first edition of the Nukes Only Newsletter! 🚀
Each month, we’re bringing you the latest news, updates, and highlights from the future stars of golf. We're pumped to be building this community, and we couldn’t be more excited to have you along for the ride.
Now, let’s dive right in…
Why are we building this?
So why fully launch a golf media brand in 2024?
Fair question. Here’s why:
First off, junior and college golf have never been more competitive. Young players today are truly different—with access to top-tier coaching, cutting-edge equipment, and elite training programs. The talent we’re currently seeing at every level is absolutely off the charts.
But here’s the problem: coverage of these future stars? Still seriously lacking.
These players just aren’t getting the attention they deserve. Tournament coverage is limited (outside of the obligatory shoutout to The Back of the Range), TV time is almost non-existent, and don’t even get us started on the lack of highlights.
So, that’s where we step in. We’re here to shine a light on the most talented young golfers out there, give them the recognition they deserve, and create some hype around the next generation of the game.
Let’s go. 🚀⛳
Player Spotlight
Tyler Mawhinney
Talk about a heater—Tyler Mawhinney had a summer for the books. 🏆
Canadian Amateur champion, deep run at the US Am, and oh yeah, just committed to Vandy to play college golf... all before his senior year of high school.
Keep an eye on Tyler this year—more big things for him are definitely on the horizon.
Jackson Koivun
Jackson Koivun had a monster freshman year: cleaned up every college golf award you can think of, helped Auburn win the team national championship, and barely missed out on the individual title (thanks to one of the craziest shots you’ll ever see.)
Most players would ease off the gas after a year like that, but uh, not Jackson.
He came out swinging this season, dominating the Inverness Collegiate to kick off his sophomore campaign. With Jackson and Auburn’s absolutely loaded squad, it’s about to be a wild year in college golf.
John Keefer
Most recent college grads? They get a nice entry level job, maybe chill for a bit, take advantage of their parents’ Netflix account. John Keefer? He went off.
Straight out of Baylor, Keefer tore up the PGA Americas Tour and then went on to make the cut at his first-ever PGA Tour event in Napa. Now with full Korn Ferry status locked in for next year, it’s only a matter of time before we see Keefer taking the next big leap.
Remember the name. 👀
